The remaining sections address specific types of emergencies: unconsciousness, respiratory difficulty, altered consciousness, seizures, drug-related emergencies, chest pain, and cardiac arrest. The format is organized around signs and symptoms, and presents the appropriate management in a step-by-step fashion. The appendix provides a quick reference section (algorithms) for life-threatening situations.
