Seismic Analysis and Retrofitting of Historical Buildings
The awareness of the concept of conservation and protection of historical buildings against natural threats, and in particular the seismic one, is an important and current issue. This is due to the fact that most of them have been recognized as having cultural heritage, having an inestimable value for their constructive, material and typological characteristics to be preserved and handed down to future generations.
Huge efforts have been done by the scientific community in proposing comprehensive methods and procedures for assessing the seismic response of these buildings and for designing possible interventions. The matter is wider than one may suppose, since typically the knowledge of historical buildings involves interdisciplinarity expertise regarding, among others, architecture, engineering and geology.
This Research Topic is addressed to highlight the recent improvements and original researches exploring seismic analysis and retrofitting of historical buildings.
Kesadaran akan konsep konservasi dan perlindungan bangunan bersejarah terhadap ancaman alam, khususnya gempa, merupakan isu penting dan terkini. Hal ini karena sebagian besar telah diakui memiliki warisan budaya, memiliki nilai yang tak ternilai karena sifat konstruktif, material, dan tipologisnya untuk dilestarikan dan diwariskan kepada generasi mendatang.
Upaya besar telah dilakukan oleh komunitas ilmiah dalam mengusulkan metode dan prosedur komprehensif untuk menilai respons seismik bangunan ini dan untuk merancang kemungkinan intervensi. Masalahnya lebih luas dari yang diperkirakan, karena biasanya pengetahuan tentang bangunan bersejarah melibatkan keahlian interdisipliner antara lain tentang arsitektur, teknik, dan geologi.
Topik Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menyoroti perbaikan terbaru dan penelitian asli yang mengeksplorasi analisis seismik dan perkuatan bangunan bersejarah.
