Brain Tumors
Central nervous system (CNS) groups of tumours have no pathognomonic presentation, however, they do present with clinical features such as increased intracranial pressure, focal neurological deficits, or seizures (generalized or partial). Recent advances in genetic testing have improved our understanding of brain tumours and have been helpful in deciding management and follow-up strategies. It is anticipated that life expectancy will increase and thus it will be important to further define management protocols and identify potential targets for future clinical trials to improve outcomes as well as the quality of life in patients with brain tumours. Recent advances in genetic testing are continuously improving our understanding of meningiomas and have been helpful in deciding management and follow up strategies. It is further anticipated that an increase in life expectancy shall further increase the incidence of symptomatic meningiomas and thus it will be important to further define the management protocols and identify potential targets for future clinical trials to improve outcomes, as well as the quality of life in these patients.
