The Encyclopedia of Senior Health and Well-being
The globally aging population and its problems and issues affect nearly everyone, directly or indirectly, whether a person is a senior citizen, a caregiving relative, a medical or health professional, or a citizen whose taxes pay for the programs and services that are needed by older individuals. In fact, many people fit more than one of these categories; for example, some individuals who are older than age 65 are themselves family caregivers to their own parents in their 80s and 90s or to their ailing spouses. Some also continue to work, and many continue to pay taxes whether they work or not. Many people of all ages are involved in one of the many service industries that some senior citizens require.
